Time Flies

April is about to end. On one hand I marvel at how quickly the month has gone. On the other hand I'm thankful that we are one month closer to booting George W Bush back to Crawford Texas. If they are even willing to take him back. ;)

Hey, hey, ho, ho, George Bush has got to go!

I shall be blogging about my March for Women's Lives experiences shortly. Simply, the march was amazing!

But when I read this post that indicated that the woman-protector of Dubya, Karen Hughes, indicated that being Pro-Choice equated to being Pro-Terrorist, I just had the urge to say she can "bite me."

It's just another example of why this regime of fear needs to be changed in November. And these folks don't get why Bush is doing poorly in the polls when it comes women....someone buy them a clue, LOL.

First they equate the Teachers organization NEA to being sympathetic to terrorists, then they suggest pro-choicers are as well....sheesh.

Foxy

I can't believe it. This morning, I happen to look out my computer room window at my young dogwood tree in bloom down below, when a movement catches my eye. There's this small dog trotting through the neighborhood.

Only it's NOT a dog!

It appears we have a red fox. I've seen possum, I've seen raccoons, now we have a fox!

It's not like I live in the middle of nowhere. I live in suburban Maryland, LOL.

Blooming

It was another gardening day here since the weather was simply marvelous. I finished mulching my garden beds, did some more weeding, and planted some flowers. My mother questioned whether it was too early to be planting. But I checked the forecast and its set to be nothing below 45 degrees for the next week. A few days more than that gets us into May and by then the chance of frost diminishes. I think they'll be just fine.

I bought 4 marigolds and 4 nicotania which look kinda like star-shaped petunias. My overachiever iris has started to bloom today. It's a beautiful shade of purple. And my dogwood and azaleas will be blooming any day now.

Can you tell Spring is my favorite time of year?

Double Arc Wonders

Since the entry didn't take yesterday, here's the short version:

I saw the most wonderfully vibrant double arc rainbow ever on Tuesday. At one point it looked like I was going to drive into the thick band of colors. It was so cool. Then as I was driving on I270 away from it, I drove through an area of amber sunlight cast from the setting sun into huge puffy clouds and the wet mist on the road. Granted it made it difficult to see while driving, but it looked like I was driving away from hell (black clouds toward DC) and into a golden heaven. It was the most surreal driving experience I've ever had.

And the kicker was, I wouldn't have seen it if I hadn't gone to the gym. Score two points for me, LOL. ;)

Geeks rule the world

On top of everything else, this story about hackers attacking supercomputers at several universities doesn't make me feel any more secure. God knows, Bush created the Department of Homeland Security, but he sure hasn't funded it properly.

Memo Meme

Good Ole Condi, blurting out the damning truth. Gotta love it.

Looks like the Bush admin is going down in a ball of flames. Or perhaps that could be Plames? We'll know soon.

On Crack

I've been such a nut job lately. Sad I have to say that about myself.

Yesterday I was so freaking paranoid that my house was painted too brightly. You know, you just don't want to be the one that paints their house some god-awful color, that everyone cringes when they see your house. And when your colors are orange-brown and green, you do worry whether the shades you choose will work or not.

I was in a panic yesterday that the green my painter used was too light/bright, not thinking that the color might darken up as it got more dry, LOL. Of course everyone I asked felt it looked just fine. Like I said, I feel like such a nutjob these days.

Someone pass me some Prozac or something. I need to calm the fuck down.

Of course, having the job cost a good bit more than I thought it would, doesn't help matters. At least my tax return will cover it. Otherwise, I'd be postal by now.

*keeps saying to self--it needed to get done, it needed to get done....it's only money*

*sigh*

Spring has sprung.

After a week of too much freaking rain, I got outdoors today to do yard cleanup. I raked out my back garden and pulled out a bush that was infringing on the space on one of my other plants. I'm not sure who thought it a good idea to plant so many bushes in such a small space, but it's not the only thing around this house that I question the previous owners' forethought.

I'm delighted because at least one of my irises is set to bloom. I'm gonna have to figure out what irises like so as to encourage some of the other plants to bloom also. LOL. My bleeding hearts plant is coming back this year and it looks like it will bloom in a few weeks. And my forcythia is currently in its brilliant yellow splendor.

Can you tell I'm just so thrilled it's spring?! :)
