Blog This

With three years of blogging under my belt, I find myself blogging less and less. Is it because I have less time or less to say or both?

AP Poll: More Voters See Bush As Decisive

Ummm....I'd say I see him as Divisive.

Am I the only one who is tired of these polls that get reported in ways to sway the American voter? The truth is half this country hates George Bush. [And I mean hates] I don't see them reporting that fact.

And they barely mention that the sample size of this poll is 804 registered voters. I'd like to know how many of each party were polled and other demographics to know whether this poll was performed in any scientific manner.

A poll can be manipulated to demonstrate anything you want it to depending on who it is you ask.

As far as I'm concerned, polls should not be news. I'm appalled at how they are used to sway public opinion. Especially considering there have been a number of polls with conflicting data in the past several weeks.

Grump

Ever have a day (when NOT PMSing) when you're just frustrated at everything for no real good reason? I'm having one of those days. I hope that it's just the weather. Otherwise, look out, LOL.

I mean, I even stopped at the mall and bought clothes at lunch, and I'm still feeling like a raging bitch! I must need a vacation.

[I did manage to buy 2 skirts, 2 tops and a camosole for under $60 total. I should be jazzed and instead I'm all pissy. Blah!]

Gardening Nut

Next time I go near the gardening section of any retailer, please tell me to back away.

Yesterday I went to buy a fungicide to treat my verbena with and I came away with two lilies and 2 black-eyed Susans. Like I needed more plants to tend to! But the lilies were a unique color and the black-eyed Susans were less than $3 each. And I figured both plants were perennials.

I should be buying clothes at the summer sales and instead I'm buying plants. I clearly need help, LOL. ;)

No Shame

Holy freaking shit! Do they have no shame? They abused kids at Abu Ghraib???? Christ.

The Bush Administration is bringing so much shame to this country that I believe they should step down. Or at least Rumsfeld should.

This must be why Ridge went out and talked up the possibility of terrorist attacks again yesterday. Invoke fear so that the the more gullible part of the electorate will buy the crap that we need to torture kids to get intel to prevent a terrorist attack on the US. Give me a freaking break......

See Dick Not Run

In honor of the Kerry Edwards ticket, I donated $25 to the campaign yesterday. In other words I did what J did, and thanked Kerry for not choosing Dick, LOL. ;)

There's no place like home

On Monday while at my parents, my cat Gee did the one thing cat owners may fear the most. He ran out the door when my Dad opened it. That is he ran away in a neighborhood that he doesn't know. And he didn't come back. For 12 hours.

At first I wasn't worried. I figured he'd appear in an hour or two. I kept calling for him and checking the yard for him.

It wasn't until it was time for me to leave to return to Maryland that I started getting very concerned. What was I to do? Leave without him and hope my parents would be able to bring him into their house? Or stay put and perhaps take a day off from work? What if he still didn't return? What if he ran onto the main road near my house? You get the idea.

I actually packed up to leave, but then when push came to shove, I couldn't bring myself to leave without him. By 10 pm I was so emotionally exhausted, I went to bed. By 10:30, my brother knocked on my door to let me know Gee returned.

It turns out that my brother checked out the window and saw Gee sitting on the front porch waiting to be let in. I had left food there but he wasn't interested in it. When Brian opened the door, Gee rushed at the screen door, and almost busted it in his anxiousness. Brian gently opened the screen door and Gee eventually got the idea he had to come around the screen door.

The prodigal son had made it home. We left Jersey at 6:20 am the next morning and I actually made it to work just fine. Thanks to many people being on vacation, we were able to make the trip down I-95 in the usual 3 hours.

Thankfully I can report that this story ended happily. I had read a bunch of stories of people online who weren't so lucky with their lost cats. Not to mention I lost a cat 10 years ago, when he didn't come home one day. (he was an indoor/outdoor cat)

As much as owning Gee has not always been easy, I'm not willing to lose him. He's my pal who snuggles up with me every night when I go to sleep. He's uniquely Gee, and no other cat could replace him. *sniff*

The Terrible Threes

Maybe I can get my brother Joe to design a new blog layout for me (when I see him this weekend) or have him create a graphic for it and I'll do the rest. I think after a year, it's time to spruce up the place again. This layout doesn't excite me at all. I guess I'm having the blogger blahs after blogging for nearly 3 years....

Click

I think I'll be asking for money towards a digital camera this Christmas. I've decided I want to splurge and buy a good one. The one my brother has is okay but nothing to shout about. Maybe I'd blog more if I was able to put up cool, sharp photos like some other bloggers.
