Shark Bait

It appears Alex Kingston is "shocked and upset" her character has been axed on ER. It seems the producers felt she was too old and not exciting enough. Bah.

My advice to Alex is....don't sweat it. That show jumped the shark years ago. It's a longtime sinking ship. Better to get off it now and move on with your career.

I mean who do you know still watches ER? Where when it began it was a realistic drama, now it's a pathetic, unbelievable soap opera. Truly a pity. At least Clooney knew when to jump ship, LOL.

Thud Alert?

Ever since director Jon Cassar indicated at Lights Camera Auction in Toronto this October that Surnow/Cochran et al. were trying to get Roy Dupuis (Michael, La Femme Nikita) to appear on 24 this season, I've been wondering if Roy would agree to it.

Well, one of the LFN fans I know online swears she saw a glimpse of Roy in the promo for next week's episode. Now I'm gonna have to watch to see if he's really in the episode. Knowing Joel Surnow, he's going to give skant glimpses of Roy in the episodes throughout the season, just to tease the Roy Dupuis fans, LOL. He's certainly a prick enough to do it. But I'll forgive the prick if he actually gives Roy a meaty role to sink his teeth into. Either that or gives me lots of eye candy scenes, LOL.

Oh BTW...here you can buy Season 1 of LFN. Trust me, just buy it. And Season 2 will be available this summer. (Anything past the 4th episode of the 4th season isn't worth watching, but prior to that the show was great. ;) ) La Femme Nikita was ahead of it's time, created by the same folks that now bring you 24.

MI5

Knowing my interest in spies, thanks to years of watching La Femme Nikita, you may have guessed I would tune in for MI-5 on A&E. You would be correct. Where I've passed on shows like the Agency and Alias (blatant LFN ripoff IMHO), I had an interest in seeing that show the Brits call Spooks. That's because it premiered in London around the time I visited there May 2002. The promo looked great. Here in the States they renamed the series MI-5. And it premiered last night.

Judging by the first episode, the show has potential. The lead male character has great eyes. Very emotive eyes, like Michael in LFN to some degree. But he does talk a bit more, LOL. In the first episode he's dealing with a romantic relationship he made while undercover. He's having to deal with lying to her about what he does and who he really is.

The female lead has almost a clumsy uncertainty to her. Example, she gets all flustered when they lose the cat that they are supposed to bug, LOL. But so far I like her character, the imperfect spy.

I'll have to see where this series goes.

Meanwhile I did watch a portion of the premiere of Nip/Tuck last night, too. I think Julian McMahon is a hottie...I've thought that ever since he made his American TV debut on the soap Another World. All I came away with was, my God that family is dysfunctional...and Julian plays a wonderful slime. LOL. I'd have to watch the entire episode to get a more accurate feel for the show. I was too tired to stay up, so I went to bed instead.
